Discover why you need to test the thickness of EVERY thickened drink in this short video:

Quick, Easy, Practical Drink Thickness Tests

Thickened drinks are often prescribed for people with dysphagia (swallowing difficulty) as they are easier to swallow. Different people require different levels of thickness.

It’s important that drinks are the correct consistency for each person. But there was no practical way to ensure drinks were the prescribed thickness - until now.

Viscgo's quick, easy, practical drink thickness tests ensure every drink thickened with xanthan gum-based thickener is the correct thickness for each person - not too thin and not too thick.

Independent Clinical Study

"The Viscgo Sticks are a fabulous addition to my dysphagia toolkit. They provide reassurance to staff, clients and carers that they are thickening drinks to the correct level. They are invaluable when clients have naturally thicker drinks such as milkshakes or smoothies. They take the guesswork out of deciding whether the drink meets the required level of thickness. I've used them in training to demonstrate the science behind the consistencies and to highlight how drinks might not achieve the correct level of thickness if made incorrectly. I love the measuring Cup and Stirrer that come as part of the Kit, making it all very easy to use. Brilliant that these items are also dishwasher-safe - vital for wards and care homes. I definitely recommend this kit to anybody working with people with dysphagia."

Discover just how quick and easy it is to test the thickness of a drink in this short video:

“The sticks are very quick and easy to use. The IDDSI syringe test isn’t practical and the syringes difficult to get hold of. The sticks are reliable and give instant feedback which helped me identify that some care home staff were making drinks thicker than needed.”
