Having worked with the members of the Viscgo team, I have every confidence in them as professionals and in the products they have developed and rigorously tested. They care to get it right for people with dysphagia and to enable all those who support people with dysphagia, whether they are family members, carers, speech therapists or anybody else, to do so effectively and as easily as possible. I trust their brand because I trust the people behind it.
Testimonials
The Viscgo Sticks are a fabulous addition to my dysphagia toolkit. They provide reassurance to staff, clients and carers that they are thickening drinks to the correct level. They are invaluable when clients have naturally thicker drinks such as milkshakes or smoothies. They take the guesswork out of deciding whether the drink meets the required level of thickness.
I’ve used them in training to demonstrate the science behind the consistencies and to highlight how drinks might not achieve the correct level of thickness if made incorrectly. I love the measuring Cup and Stirrer that come as part of the Kit, making it all very easy to use. Brilliant that these items are also dishwasher-safe – vital for wards and care homes. I definitely recommend this kit to anybody working with people with dysphagia.
The sticks are very quick and easy to use. The IDDSI syringe test isn’t practical and the syringes difficult to get hold of. The sticks are reliable and give instant feedback which helped me identify that some care home staff were making drinks thicker than needed.

I have used the Drink Thickness Test Sticks and the Food Consistency Test fork and they are great . So easy to use and it really helps to get the drinks to the correct consistency and to ensure the food is cooked soft enough. Very clever tools to help ensure that food and drinks are compliant.
I like the versatility of the Viscgo fork. For a new care team member or chef that is new to the healthcare business this will give them confidence on sizing and testing, helping with training and reducing risk.
I work closely with care homes, especially catering staff, and am keen to promote the new Viscgo Fork and Sticks in care homes.
