The Viscgo Dysphagia Pack delivers significant cost savings compared to buying its contents individually. It contains the following:
Viscgo Dysphagia Pack
Viscgo Food Consistency Test Fork
The Viscgo Food Consistency Test Fork is the quick, easy practical way to test that texture-modified food adheres to the prescribed level on the IDDSI Framework. Developed in consultation with specialist dysphagia chefs, it has standardised dimensions and properties that conform precisely with those required by the IDDSI Food Testing Methods. This removes subjectivity, increases accuracy and therefore reduces risk.
Viscgo Drink Thickness Test Sticks
The Viscgo Drink Thickness Test Sticks are the quick, easy practical way to test that every drink thickened with xanthan gum-based thickener adheres to the prescribed level on the IDDSI Framework. They are colour-coded and numbered to match the IDDSI level they are calibrated to test and determine if a drink is the correct thickness simply by standing, or falling, when placed in a thickened drink.
The University of Manchester recently conducted an independent study that verifies the validity and reliability of the Viscgo Sticks. To find out more click here

Viscgo Measuring and Testing Cup
It is easier to use the Viscgo Sticks if the drink being tested is in a cup which has a flat bottom. The drink being tested needs to be between 6.5 and 7.5 cm deep. The Viscgo Cup has a flat bottom and the correct dimensions so that a 200 ml drink is 7 cm deep. It has a label displaying the correct depth mark and how to tell if a drink is too thin, too thick, or the correct thickness. The Viscgo Cup improves the efficacy of the Viscgo Sticks.
Viscgo Stirrer
Designed specifically to mix thickener into a drink quickly and efficiently.
Viscgo Chin-Tuck Against Resistance (CTAR) Ball
The Chin Tuck Against Resistance (CTAR) exercise is specifically aimed at improving swallowing function by enhancing the strength of the muscles involved in this process. The exercise primarily targets the suprahyoid muscles, which play a crucial role in lifting the larynx during swallowing. The CTAR exercise involves the patient tucking their chin toward their chest while applying pressure against a resistance tool, such as an inflatable ball, positioned between the chin and chest.
FREE eating, drinking and swallowing awareness training for those who care for people with dysphagia
Commensurate with Level 1 of the Eating Drinking and Swallowing Competency Framework (EDSCF).

IDDSI Funnel
The official IDDSI Funnel has been designed by IDDSI specifically to perform the IDDSI flow test to check that thickened drinks adhere to the prescribed level of thickness on the IDDSI Framework.
Compared to syringes, the funnel:
- has the correct dimensions required to perform the IDDSI flow test accurately
- has the IDDSI drink thickness levels marked on the barrel
- has a wider spout making it easier to load the drink to be tested
- is more eco-friendly with no wastage of a plunger and is reusable and recyclable
- is dishwasher-safe
